Plains Zebra (Equus quagga), 30c stamp – Impala (Aepyceros melampus), 40c stamp – Grey crowned crane (Balearica regulorum), Western Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) and Hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius), 1fr stamp –
Cape buffalo (Syncerus caffer), 3fr stamp – African cape hunting dog (Lycaon pictus), 5fr stamp –
Olive baboon (Papio anubis), 10fr stamp –
African elephant (Loxodonta Africana), 40fr stamp – Reed Cormorant (Phalacrocorax africanus) and African Darter (Anhinga rufa), and 100fr stamp –
Lion (Panthera leo). The art work on these stamps was done by artist J. Van Noten and the printing was done by Courvoisier SA Scott
The Rwanda Scott #100 – National Park of La Kagera 20c Plains Zebra(Equus quagga) stamp is 36 x 26 mm photogravure printing with approximately 50,000 issued. A thousand Rwanda Francs are worth about USA $1.50 and one Rwanda Francs is worth 100 Rwandan Santine (or cents).
AFRICAN ZEBRA
Mountain zebra (Equus zebra), Plains zebra (Equus quagga) and Grevy’s zebra (Equss grevyi)
There are three species of African zebras, the Mountain zebra (Equus zebra), the Plains zebra (Equus quagga) and Grevy’s zebra (Equss grevyi). Zebras are herbivores that live in herds. They are grazers feeding mainly on grasses and leaves. Zebras are preyed upon by the African lion (Panthera leo), spotted hyena (Crocuta crocuta), Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus), African leopard (Panthera pardus), African wild dog (Lycaon pictus), cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) and humans.
